Join Top Hat at the Harrisburg, Altoona, and Hazleton campuses from February 27–29, 2024. We’ll be hosting a series of workshops designed to help you get the most out of Top Hat. Ideal for longtime users, newcomers, or those just interested in student engagement—all are welcome.
Not from these individual campuses? No problem! Sessions are open to faculty across all Penn State Campuses. In-person attendance is recommended. However, a virtual option will be available for those who can’t attend in person. See below for the agenda on each day!

10:30 – 11:00a.m.: Nearpod user meeting
Join this session to provide feedback on your use of Nearpod.
11:00a.m. – 12:30p.m.: 10 Things you didn’t know you could do with Top Hat
During this session, attendees will receive an overview of some advanced ways to incorporate Top Hat into their course. We’ll cover how to use Top Hat synchronously and asynchronously, with a focus on engaging larger class sizes.
12:30 – 1:00p.m.: Lunch
Faculty can enjoy lunch on us while having the chance to ask questions and get feedback on their Top Hat courses.
1:00 – 2:00p.m.: Panel with faculty speakers
2:00 – 3:00p.m.: Book fair
Faculty attending the book fair will get the chance to learn about Top Hat’s content capabilities. These include Top Hat’s Open and Affordable Educational Resources (OAER), discipline-specific offerings, and the ability to create and customize content.
